Your Support Matters
As the preservers of Apopka’s past, the Apopka Historical Society operates the Museum of the Apopkans as a place to collect, maintain and share artifacts and documents that tell Apopka’s history and culture. Since 1968, the society has endured challenges and needed changes in order to preserve and increase our collection, share these resources with the public, and educate the next generation of future civic leaders. To accomplish this mission, the AHS relies on funding from membership dues and donations of generous donors like you. Please make a gift today.
Education
The Apopka Historical Society provides educational opportunities to children and adults. Student field trips and docent-led tours share the valuable resources in the museum with a wide variety of visitors. Exhibits highlighting notable people or events add an additional dimension to the educational efforts.
Research
Working with individuals and community groups, the Museum of the Apopkans has numerous resources to help uncover surprises of the past. Volunteers help the public discover the answers to varied inquiries.
Community Programs
The Museum and the Society participate in area activities which honor and preserve the history of Apopka. The Celebration of History Project recognizes historic places within northwest Orange County. Open houses and special events invite the public to come to the museum to learn the history of our remarkable community.
